It says the Boss sounds great

It says the Boss sounds great in 3rd position. I wasn't aware that Steven Tyler, Bruce Springsteen, and John Popper played in the 3rd position... And what's half-valving?

Answer

Interesting stuff. I would assume the Juke Joint for our style of playing, based from the description. They didn't say that those players played in 3rd Position, they just stated that this temperament tuning will also sound nice in 3rd Position. Adam Hamil did those recordings, I'll see him at SPAH in a couple of weeks and will ask him about this new service.
