hotrod deville convert to 5f6-a bassman
Hi Skip I have a Hotrod Deville Im gona convert to a PTP 5F6-A bassman. Got few of questions, 1. Im gona use the devilles FWB rectifier set up, I was gona put a 20w 200ohm "sag" resistor between the rectifier and first filter cap also this should help drop the voltage alittle too right? 2. I was gona use the stock bias set up but , on the deville schematic cp 15, 16, 17 , not sure what to do with cp17, should that go to ground because Im not going to use the circuit cp17 is going too or just not connect it to anything? Or should I use the 5f6a bias set up (make it adjustable) and use cp15 as the bias input and ground cp17 and not connect cp16 to anything?
Oh brother, this sounds like a really bad idea to me. Unless you are willling to completely "gut" the chassis and rebuild it as a hard-wired 5F6-A you will have some serious issues. AND, it would be great if you could actually use such a loud amp in this world of covid. Reconsider, baby! Please give me a call (days) and I will do my best to point you in the right direction!
