I ain't askin', I'm tellin'
Fellow harpists who follow Kinya's thread here, a totally unsolicited endorsement:
If you're thinking at all about a custom harp, think hard about Kinya's HarpSmith harmonicas. I now have three, and they're all great. And Kinya pays attention to how YOU play in figuring out what sort of customization will work best for you.
Once you've played for a while, and have a good feel for different makes and models of harmonica and what makes the sound you want (e.g., the harmonica is just a bunch of pieces of metal inside a box with holes. It's YOU who makes the sound), you'll get a harp that really takes your playing to the next level.
Good quality Hohner models, made even better. And add to that reasonable prices, short waiting time, and personal service.
You'll be glad you did.
