David (or anyone else),
Do you know of good sources for ii V I transition licks? Either harp licks, or horn licks playable on harp.
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks David. What lesson are you referring to about the bass line? I may not have gotten to that lesson yet.
I have a swing blues jam track that uses ii V I. Without thinking I played IV V I licks over it, which actually doesn't sound completely horrible to me although in theory you'd think it would. But I'd like to work out a few simple ii V I licks that still sound bluesy.

They're extremely rare on the harmonica... the only lick that comes to mind is that bass line I teach you in the lesson. If anyone out there is using it in our classic blues world, I think that would be Dennis Gruenling... check out his work. Outside of that, ii-V-I's are very common in the jazz world. Jamey Aebersold (http://www.jazzbooks.com/) has a jam book/CD just for practicing your ii-V-I's. Check out the jazz sax guys, especially from the 1930's and 40's. Let us know what you find.
