Intergrating book exercises to studies

Hi David!
How would you recommend to integrate the exercises from your books (First lessons and Blues Harmonica 1) in the study plan you recommend (10 min. technique exercises; 30 minutes study songs; 20 minutes improvising)?
Should I consider them as technique exercises? Licks exemples? Some may be used as study songs, I guess.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Just speaking of the books and not the website... take the focus of that section... say the octave tongue block for example (Blues Harmonica 1) and exercise that as your warmup. Then play the lick examples I have in the book, and since there's no song associated with it in the book, take those licks and apply the Chorus Forms (taught in Improvising Study 1 on the site) to it... making five chorusses of playing based on that lick.
I recommend those books as more adjunct study... something for fun when you're not working on your study song on this site. This site is set up very comprehensively and is where most your study time should be... on the study song(s). This way you can work your technique exercises in the lesson PDF, then work a chorus of the song, then take a favorite lick out of that part of the song you're studying and apply the Chorus Forms... it's already set up for all of this.
Have fun!
