Irish Tunes in Dorian?
Hey folks, looking for a couple of Irish style tune suggestions in Dorian mode to practice 3rd position.
Rob has already given you a great thread to send you down the rabbit hole of celtic tunes, but here's a couple more specific suggestions.
I was playing and learning more Irish and celtic tunes last year (and even took the online course by Richard Sleigh which I highly recommend - well worth the low price tag): https://hotrodharmonicas.com/ultimateharmonica-com/
Two dorian tunes that are great to learn and you can even pair them together in a session or "Road to Lisdoonvarna" and "The Swallowtail Jig".
I posted a tab with sheet music on MuseScore: https://musescore.com/user/36578355/scores/22920481?share=copy_link
I sometimes go to flutetunes.com and look up any Irish tune as they will have a midi recording as well as sheet music - the flute is in a similar register to harmonica. It's trick though as the song may have a sharp or flat that requires an overblow or you will need a harmonica tuned to Paddy Richter.
Here's a couple of other resources to take a look at:
