Leslie / Hammond Organ
Hi Skip, I could get an old Hammond Organ from the 70's (which even has an aux-input on the backside). I don't know if the organ itself is technically in a playable condition. Is the amp-section suitable for playing harp? As it is quite a long way to travel to the one who gives it away I would like to know what you think about this idea.
If the organ works - is it the easyest way to plug in the mic and play harp? If the organ doesn't work anymore: Do you know a source where I can get information on how to modify the amp-section for harp. Is there even a topic here on Bluesharmonica.com?
Regards
Kai
Hello Kai- Thanks for writing. Somehere out there, waiting paiently with soldering irons at the ready, are a ton of people who can hardly wait to make an old organ into a harp amp...just for the fun of it. If that is you, then go for it! If you don't have a lot of patience and certain amount of technical knowlege, I'd pass. They are also an excellent place to find vintage parts such as capactors and resistors if they are cheap enough, but again, if you aren't a solderin' fool, forget it.
