Level 1 "Walk with Me"
Hi Dave,
I'm just learning how to tongue block and have found your Level 1 lessons to be extremely helpful. I'm now working on learning to play Walk with Me and wonder if I should be aiming to play the whole song with the tongue block method. It's a bit of a challenge to move around the holes on the lower end of the harp (3, 1) using the tongue block method. But I'll keep at it if this is the goal.
I also found your "switching" lesson to be helpful in going back and forth between holes 1 and 4 with tongue blocking.
thanks

Thought you'd like to hear from a beginner that just completed the 1st 1/3 of LOA 1 :) (Walk With Me). With enough pratice and time, TB becomes second nature. I remember thinking; wow, i dunno if i'll ever get this. and then...no prob. give it time. don't rush. for what it's worth as the buffalo springfield sang. ;)
Thank you for sharing that Bob.
I'm glad you're enjoying your lessons Laura. Yes, do the whole song in a tongue block, even the tongue switch for hole 1. Even if you decide to use a mixed-embouchure approach, it's great to practice it to have the skill. Best wishes on your studies.
