Listening is practising - streaming services

Having read that listening to a tune repeatedly is all part of learning to play it, I want to find a free or cheap way to download tunes that I'm working on. Apple used to let users download even just one song for a small fee but they seem to have stopped this in favour of a subscription. Any advice please on how to get just a small number of tunes onto a phone without paying lots of money?
Thanks,
Mark.
Mark: I'm the most illiterate computer user you can imagine, but I'm wondering if you're asking about the difference between what I know of as Apple Music as a streaming service, and the Apple Music Store as a download function. E.g., I once in a while download single songs that I don't already have in my computer library. Apple's current price for a single current song is generally US$1.29, but in an insult to blues fans everywhere, a lot of classic blues is only 99 cents per song. And once that price is paid and the song downloaded into my computer library I can copy it to any of my devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.), into my Sonos home sound system, or my Amazing Slow Downer app. And even copy it as an MP3 to share with a friend (tho' I'm cautious with this, as the artist or his or her heirs are paid royalties only from the initial download. Is this what you're asking about? -Rob
