LOA3 Bending
Hey, David. Hope all is well. I'm a bit perplexed by LOA3.
Given the lessons, it seems that the primary thrust of LOA3 is bending. There are bending exercises and bending is included in the study song. There's also the accompaniment and metronome submissions as well, but it seems the thrust is bending.
That said, it also seems that bending is particularly challenging, at least to me. So, my question is this: How much progress are we expected to make on this level? Are we expected to fully master bending before submitting our materials or just make substantial progress toward mastery? If so, what would that look like?
Thanks,
Ace
Hello Ace. Yes, bending is the focus, and bending takes time to develop. This level will take longer than the other levels, due to bending needing to be practiced over time to mature. I recommend you check out some of the support material that you may have skipped over while doing the LOA program.
I am looking for the bends to be in tune, so work with Harp Ninja to make sure you're at pitch. I of course don't expect perfection, but good intonation (playing the notes in tune) is the goal. Tone is not the goal right now... that will mature over time. Take your time, you're not in a hurry. Also be kind to yourself... it's a technique that takes time and persistence.
