LOA Approach
A search lead me to the essay written by Mark Heffington. I believe I met him last month in San Jose. Very encouraging information. I was searching for how best to use LOA as that's the approach I plan to follow. My question is should each study in a level in the be completed before moving to the next study? For instance, should the song in Level 1 be finished before music theory or should these be approached concurrently? Thanks!
You're speaking of the Solo Harmonica Study 1 section. You will continue your study of that material in later LOA's. If you really like that material (and many do like the Solo Harmonica material... I do) feel free to dig into all of it now, but in regards to LOA it's spread over levels. In some cases I don't move on due to that a technique hasn't been taught yet, like in the Section 2 material it uses the Pull, and I don't "officially" teach that until Tongue Block Study 3 (LOA-L4), so you can continue through the material, but you'll need to cross reference material sometimes to fill in the gaps in your technique.
You got it! You're of course welcome to study anything (at your skill level) at any time... feel free to go deeper in a subject if it's of current interest, but LOA is always there to help you when you're not sure what to work on next. Best wishes on your studies.
Good morning SmokeJS. You are correct, study them concurrently.
