Hey guys,
Just had a jam session and the band played this song. It's an 8 bar blues and it messes me up sometimes. Have any of you played it and are there examples other than the few things i found on Youtube?
Thanks!
Tom
Thanks for the response,
I'm familiar with the 8 bar format...have no problem with Key To The Highway, Feelin for the blues or other standard 8 bar songs.
For some reason when I solo to Mary it doesn't feel quite right so I was hoping to hear what other players have done with it to get some ideas. I found a few you tubes but with 2 exceptions they're awful lol!
Thanks again for your input,
Tom

In case the audio isn't on YouTube, the first commercial studio recording is on SRV's 1983 CD/album "Texas Flood." Is it the song that's being a fun challenge for you, or the eight-bar blues format? If the latter, David has a nice introduction of what the eight-bar form is all about in his LOA No. 3 videos for his study song "Feelin' for the Blues."
