Mastering the Band stand
WOW!, loved this new addition to the site Dave. Really insightful and interesting and I can't say enough about the jam at the end very cool!!!!
These are all fantastic players but for me Joe's acoutic playing is just ...WOW!, it's inspirational.
Don't get me wrong I loved everything Dennis and Rod did the chromatic stuff I'm falling in love with (don't own one yet!, but will soon!)
I have some of Dennis stuff and seen him live several times but have never heard much of Rod's work, I tend to be a blues nazi type so can anyone suggest any of Rod's work that is a must have for my collection? I got to hear more!!
There are some artists like Springsteen and Seger that you have to experience live to get the most out of. I think Rod is one of those. A good way to get a taste of his live show is to get his "Live at B.B. Kings" album ( http://www.amazon.com/Live-Kings-Piazza-Mighty-Flyers/dp/B0000020UJ ). The live version of "Murder in the 1st Degree" is the only way to listen to it.
Glad you liked it. The #1 CD from Rod to have is "Harp Burn" from 1986.
