Winslow,
I just got my first Hohner Crossover......on the back of the packaging there is a Selection Guide and the Crossover is classified as Professional/Specialty.
What does that mean? Why Specialty and what does Professional mean? or is it mostly marketing?
Thank you!

It's all marketing, which is something Hohner has always been good at.
I happened to be in a music store the other day and saw the same selection table on the back of a blister-carded Hohner Blues Harp. I noticed that the Golden Melody was listed as for Country music. What a terrible choice! The GM is equal-tempered, so its chords sound awful.
If it's the most expensive harp, it must be for professionals, right?
I agree, I have no clue what "specialty" is supposed to mean, unless it's a word that helps someone justify to themselves buying a relatively expensive harp.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Crossover is a great harp and worth the price difference.
