Hi David,
I am having trouble trying to make the staccato notes sound different than regular notes. Are there any tips you could provide in the way of articulation or whatnot?

Try...
1) TA, making sure NOT to allow any air to flow after the initial T
2) Ka, same idea as above
3) Make sure your embouchure is very open... the tongue going up quickly and back out quickly.
4) Keep in mind in some of the very fastest articulate passages Gary switches to pucker... pucker is great for quick articulate passages (Ta Ka... Udl Adl Adl... etc.). Best wishes on this one, it's a masterpiece!
P.S., check out Gary's story about this in his submission #28 (coming very soon). In this lesson is also his experience with Jr Wells' tongue!
