My set of custom Super Seydels by Jon Harl
Like allot of other players I had an idea of how my perfect harp would be configured and play and I would like to Thank Jon harl for making this a reality. I knew exactly what I wanted in a blues harp, Jon told me about all the options Seydel offers and explained to me the process he goes through. What I have been handed is a harmonica that is so much more than what I expected
The first thing I noticed about Jon's custom 1847s is the dynamic range and responsiveness of the reeds. All the time and effort Jon puts into these harmonicas making sure all surfaces are flat and match up perfectly along with all the reed work he does make for an extremely efficient, airtight and fine-tuned instrument that is very reliable and robust. Whether I'm using my softest breath or trying to perform a fast run through the range of the harp these 1847 harmonicas that Jon has delivered to me handles it all wonderfully.
I spent allot of time finding the harmonica that fit me the best. I tried various Suzuki's, Hohner's and even a couple of Lee Oskar’s. For me it came down to the Hohner Crossover and the Seydel 1847. When all was said and done it was the Seydel that gave me my total package of sound, fit, and feel that I was looking for. In the end I sent my Seydel's to Jon Harl and I even sent a couple of my Crossovers to Joe Spiers there's no out of the box harmonica that can compare to a harmonica properly set up by a person that really knows what they are doing and who have the skill set to make it happen. In the end I gave my Uncle my Crossovers that Joe Spiers set up because he gave me my first Marine Band. But for me personally it's a Seydel 1847 set up by Jon Harl that gave me absolutely everything I was looking for in a Blues Harp.
Thanks so much Jon
Dave and Hank... you certainly are kind and I appreciate your endorsement. I couldn't ask for better customers.
Thanks,
Jon
I agree, Jon does it right, I am sold on his work on Seydels. I just now ordered three more.
Good guy too which is nice eh!
I took it one step further. Jon built a beautiful set of 1847 Nobels for me and then shipped them to Mike Fugazzi for the full OB/OD tweak. Sadly, I was real sick when I got them and I didn't get an opportunity to play them right away. Then I fell, cracked my noggin open and broke 5 ribs. Been in the hospital for almost 7 weeks since. I can barely breathe, let alone play a harp. Something to look forward to when I get out of this place.
Couldn't agree more Dave! - My dealings with Jon have been rewarding and have certainly given me what I hoped for in my harps. Easy to get along with, very accommodating and produces straight quality stuff!!
