New here and going for it!
Hi all. My name is Mike from the Dallas, Texas USA area. Today is my first day on the website. I am self-taught on blues harp over the last 10 years, but really do not know what I am doing. I also play keyboards and sing in a cover band in the area and am a former trumpet player.Anyway, I thought I would give myself a gift and actually submit to someone's teaching instead of trying to do things on my own!I love my other instruments, but blues harp is really my passion.Best wishes to you all!
Mike: With your keyboard, trumpet and vocal experience, you're going to find a lot of familiar musical stuff here, but no matter your experience and facility with music theory, and your decade of harmonica playing, David will also offer you some really fun challenges and open your mind to things you didn't know existed. Like Brian, I'm also looking forward to your posting updates on how your experience here will take your work with your band to new levels. Enjoy!
Hi Mike,
Since you have stage experience you have something many don't have. I'm jealous. David has a lot to offer, so I have no doubt you will find plenty of new things. I would think that one of the most valuable things you will be able to get at blueharmonica.com is to have your work professionally evaluated. If you do find the beginning lessons a little too easy for your level of experience, then checkout the artist studies David has but together.
As you go through the lessons, I would love to read about what you learn here and how it can improve your performances on stage. I hope you will post regularly.
