Carp Played Some Harp on the CDs
''Muddy & the Wolf'' and ''The Best of John Lee Hooker 65-70''
Who was he, and what happened to him?
Are There Any Blues History Buffs Out There?
Jeff Carp (or Karp, I've seen both spellings) also played on:
--the Muddy Waters "Fathers and Sons" project - he and Paul Buttefrield played chromatic and diatonic, respectively, on "All Aboard" (I believe James Cotton and Little Walter did the honors on the original recording)
--Charlie Musselwhite's "Tennessee Woman" album, on a track called "Blue Feeling Today."
He also played on the London Howlin' Wolf Sessions with Hubert Sumlin, Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr, etc. He was a 19 yr. old prodigy, and he died shortly after doing those sessions in 1970, according to Wikipedia. He apparently had his own band, the 43rd St. Snipers.
