Interviews
Is there anyway one of the topics during the interviews could be about "Solo Harmonica"? Some chugging? I'm talking about solo harmonica being without the accompaniment of other instruments.
None of the interviews really consist of them. I'm very new with this, so maybe solo harmonica topic doesn't have enough for a segment of the interview. I don't know, I thought I would ask. That is just the style that I love ... the sound of the harmonica all by itself.
Thanks.
Hi David,
could you also make interviews with artists from Europe and integrate them? I know there is Joe Filisko and Steve Baker. But there are a lot of amazing players in Germany, France and so on. Especially I would prefer Dieter Kropp, Dale King (orig. from L.A.) from Germany,Greg Zlap,Rachelle Plas, JJ Milteau from France or Paul Lamb (GB) who would enrich the insights of Blues Harmonica. Maybe you could make a side trip to Paris or so when you´re at Trossingen every year. What do you think?
Thanks!
Patrick
I'll keep this in mind, thank you for the suggestion Patrick.
Hello Jake. Thanks for the suggestion. When making my list of "20 questions" many years ago I didn't think to add that as a subject. Solo harmonica playing is generally not that common, and what is out there is commonly an offshoot of Rice Miller's "Bye Bye Bird." Now that I think of it, some of the non-post war blues artists that I've interviewed could of had some things to share. So, thanks to you I'll now add that to my list :-)
P.S., make sure to work on my Solo Harmonica Study lessons and Joe Filisko's Train and Fox Chase lessons.
