Oh Baby Tabs
I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find the tabs (or the musicscore)for Little Walters"Oh Baby". I am particularly interested in the opening lick. Its one I like and wanted to use a derivation for a LOA4 piece that I am thinking to use. Whilst the recording that I have listened to is not clear I think he is playing 2 2 3/4 5+ 4 3 2 2. Whilst I have already decided how I might use this lick I would be interested in his rendition. It sounds like a C harp second position with a heavy byas for the notes of the I and IV chords. Many thanks in advance.
If you mean "Oh Baby, You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone," it was actually played on a C slide harp but with the slide mostly held in, to put it in Ab instead of G.
Some versions of the recording "corrected" the pitch down to G, but he did actually play it in Ab. Here's a link to a Youtube version that is in the correct, original key of Ab:

The harp he used is a Koch 980, a Hohner product that came in C and G. It was tuned like a diatonic, had no valves, but was in the form of a slide chromatic. Hohner bought out Koch around 1930, and continued to produce the 980 until about 2013.
Walter uses the slide to get a couple of different effects:
He also uses a shimmer - where you have three or more holes in your mouth and rapidly alternate between the holes in the right and left corners. Dennis Gruenling also does this when he plays the song, even though he plays it on diatonic. When you first hear Draw 4 in the tune, Walter is doing a shimmer of Draw 2 and 4. (This is easier on a chromatic because of the larger, wider spaced holes.)
