I'm sure this question gets asked all the time but I couldn't find a answer going through the site. I just got a C harmonica because that's where I thought I would need to start. I want to go through the LoA but it says I need an A key harmonica.

You can probably do a few exercises in LOA with the "C harp. Harps are interchangeable however you will just be playing in a different key, so some stuff may sound a little different. The "C" harp is still good to have as it is used as the reference standard for music theory. However you will need to get an "A" harp if you plan to go through LOA and especially if you plan to submit material and work on earning the levels. Actually you will eventually need several more keys later (Low F, G, Bb, D) in addition to the "C" and "A". Most blues harmonica players have all these keys as a minimum.
