Pitch Pro
I've found an iPhone App called Pitch Pro by Frozen Ape. They also make a metronome. But it's the Pitch Pro that really interests me. I've been using it to dial in my 2 and 3 draw bends. It can be a real eye opener to try and play to the correct pitch and hold it for the 6 second duration the pitch pipe plays. In Dave's beginning study on bending there is a pdf that shows all the keys with all the bends available. Even over blows and overdraws. I'm pretty sure it's going to take me years to tune my ear to the correct pitch and play that on the corresponding harmonica. You could also use a keyboard but this is more convenient.
Tell me what you think.
Best Regards,
Jon

Thanks for sharing, I'll check it out. I've been using clear tune too, but it seems to have trouble sometimes recognising the pitches, like it'll sometimes show me a B when im playing an unbent G. When it gets like that I dig out the Korg guitar tuner. But also been using 'Yesterday' as an ear training melody. If you start it on 2 draw it's a pretty good bending tune up. Christelle Berthon put me on to this; she also advocated using pitch-matching rather than a tuner. I think her idea was that you don't always have a tuner but you always have your ears. Just to name drop a bit more(not really, its just the folks have some cred) Ian collard on the other hand told me to use a tuner and like you said hank, make that needle sit steady.
My Blues has some great ear training licks too. I reckon that lick in bar 9 of the 4th chorus is a cracker. Sounds terrible if you don't play it accurately.
Ramble ramble, it's late...
Hey Jon - thanks for the heads up on this - I get two when I search "pitch pro" neither on of which is Frozen Ape stuff They come up as Perfect Pitch and Power Pitch Pro. Can you help me out with any other information?
I've been using ClearTune as it shows both the note you are playing and a scale to show how many cents out you are for tuning.
Nail That Note is an interesting one for ear training for notes, intervals and chords. I'm using it a fair bit to train my ear to recognize chord changes and intervals.
