a play along question
wow! bar 6 of feelin for the blues chorus 3 is gon be tough to hit. especially in tune and in time. only recently I learned that somebody was right. early bending trails when you think you're humping the back of the tongue, you're not. humping the middle instead. but once you start to get it, it's awesome feeling to feel the air flow change and rush in the bend
my question: if I have song on mp3 or cd that I want to practice some of the level 3 accompaniment stuff to, is there some way to figure out what key they're doing it in?
not that I can figure out but yall know lots more'n I do

David goes through 4 methods of figuring out the key of a song there
Monty, in the absence of knowing or seeing the song’s key, a pitch pipe can be very helpful. Simply blow a few notes on the pipe during the start of the song and you’ll quickly find the right key. Then step back five notes (including the key of the song) to the harp key in second position. Pitch pipes are cheap, commonly around $10-$15.
An alternative is to do the same exercise using different key harps, but that would assume you have a full set.
Eventually you‘ll develop your ear to the point you won’t need to do this much.
