Playing harmonica with neck harmonica holder
Hello David,
I just signed up to your website and lessons and going through the fundamentals. I'm a street musician, guitarist and singer and I already "sort of" play harmonica on my covers of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Xavier Rudd etc, though I know my knowledge is very poor since I started learning harmonica alone. Therefore I'm enjoing your classes indeed to get a better knowledge of what to do! :)I've got a simple question for you. For the reason I told you I mainly play harmonica with the neck holder: is it possible to apply the same concepts that you teach with the neck holder? I now figure out that when I play harmonica on the neck holder it goes flat to my mouth, not tilted as you teach it should. How can I correct that issue? Is it possible to apply the tongue blocking technique correctly anyways using the neck holder?
Thank you very much!
Paul
Hi. I aam having great difficulty drawing on holes 2 and 3. Is this normal?
Hello petermeriva. Yes, this is a very common issue. Take a look at the first video on this page http://www.bluesharmonica.com/faq
Hello Paul. You don't have to tilt the harmonica, that's just an option (not all pros do so).
For those that do tilt the harmonica you can either bend your harmonica holder so that it has an angle to it (if the material is thin enough) or they purchase the Hohner Flex Rack, which gives you good control over your angles.
