Playing Unaccompanied
I still consider myself a beginner. On TB Study 3 and Bending Study 2. Have not got into the Solo Harmonica Study yet (although my next question may lead me to the need to focus here as well)!
In October I am going to see some family that have NO idea I've embarked on this little journey of learning to play blues harmonica. I would love to pull out my harmonica and play something solo that will sound great. Does the Solo Harmonica Study lead into songs that would lead me in this direction? Any "target study song" that you think would fit the bill? (I know it will only be as good as the practice time I put in)!
Thanks.

That there's funny. :o)
That's why I sometimes wonder if i'm the only person who likes music and especially the harmonica!! :)
Will harmonica playing get you a date? :-)
I think "Gary's Blues" is a great choice to play... it's very rhythmic and will sound good without a band. You could also play along to the jam track (stereo speakers). In the Solo Harmonica Study take a look at Study 2, Ex. 1.5, that's a great one. Play a chorus or two for them... that's all you need... most people listen for about a minute and then start talking to the other people!
