Problem with saliva and 'burping'
Hello,
since I started practicing level 2 of LOA I started to have problems with saliva and the need to 'burp' after a long phrase. Probably the culprit is the slap technic since it is the main difference between levels 1 and 2. I'm projecting a lot of saliva on the harmonica, so much that after some practice some reeds start to get stuck. Besides that, I think I'm swallowing air, because if I play for too long I start to feel the need to burp and I end up having to stop so I can relieve my self...
Do you have any ideia of what I'm doing wrong? I'm trying to play heads up to keep the saliva down already. Maybe I'm playing too hard, need to play softer.
Hello tandeitnik. Yes, playing softer, and with a lighter touch with your tongue on the face of the harmonica, are both important. In regards to burping, I have not run across this before. My only guess would be to make sure your throat stays relaxed and open while playing (not giving it a chance to switch to your stomach). It would be a good idea to ask Winslow on his part of e forum as well to see if he’s run across this issue.
