Hi David,

I am just learning Ex. 1.8 on Solo Harmonica Study 2 and it is the first time I have come across 'pulls'. I think that I have mastered slaps and can't quite understand why I haven't come across pulls before.

Can you recommend any videos or other resources on BluesHarmoinca.com that will teach me pulls?

Thanks,

Mark.

Pulls

A further question on pulls David...

If I am slapping a 4 draw and then sounding a draw chord on holes 1, 2 & 3, how do I stop the 4 draw sounding when I move between the slap and the chord? At the moment, I think I am moving the harp to the right so that my mouth blocks the 4 draw but is this the best way to do it?

This question comes about as a result of trying to play bar 9 of Solo Harmonica Study 2, Ex 1.8.

Thanks,

Mark.

Hello Mark. You're correct,

Hello Mark.

You're correct, just simply move your mouth over so that you're over holes 1, 2, and 3.

In that example you could just keep your mouth over holes 1 through 4 the whole time... it will sound good too. The movement to holes 1 through 3 give the line a little more bounce (having the chord sound below hole 4).
