Recording with Audacity
Hi everyone. Does anyone have any experience with recording on the Audacity application? Ive been messing around with levels and my mic, but the harmonica still sounds really buzzy and awful. I think that I might need a better mic as the one that im using is a very cheap webcam :( Would be great to hear from you if you know anything about this. Thanks!
You might be overpowering the webcam mic and driving it into distortion - sometimes desirable but not always. You could try backing away from it or playing softer to see if that helps. However, a better mic would probably be a good investment.
I use my iPhone to record whike playing the track in headphones. Unfortunately that creates a mp4a that audacity doesn't recognize, so using iTunes I convert to an MP3.
Then you can drag and drop both the jam track and the harp tracks into audacity allowing you to work with your harp tracks in dependant of the jam track.
Im sure there are other methods to record but it appears to me an audio interfac unit is required To record directly to the software.
This is what I do and I hope it helps.
