Reed plate differences - MB

Hi Kinya,
Loved the series, so incredibly informative. I do feel like I have much better handle on looking after my gear - which I would never have gotten elsewhere.
A question I have revolves around a previous post of yours.
If MB classic and MB deluxe have the same reed plate, why do you think hohner charge a good deal more for the deluxe reed plate replacement on their spare parts website? Is it got to do with tuning or?
Thanks!
Hello Ajayy, it's good to hear from you.
For the Hohner Marine Band Classic 1896, I don't recall seeing reed plates (fastened with nails) available on the Hohner Shop site--only case, cover plates and combs https://www.hohnershop.com/search.php?search_query=Marine+Band+Classic+1896&x=13&y=4
If you do locate them, you'll find the reed plates--with exception of fastener clearance holes on the Blow plate and fastener threaded holes on the Draw plate--Marine Band Classic 1896 will be identical to the Marine Band Deluxe 2005
Unless you feel compelled to work extra hard at customizing the Marine Band Classic 1896, most Harp Techs are delighted that the Marine Band Deluxe 2005 already have the reed plates and sealed combs pre-drilled ;o)
Your Harpsmith, Kinya
