Remarks about this site
Hi Everybody,
I want to introduce myself to who ever's interested and to Mr. Barrett and to the designer of this site. I just subscribed about three days ago. I have to say that I am really impressed with everything here. Everything seems to work perfectly and the organization and video persentations work great.
In terms of content I just can't say enough good things about it. I love the interviews!
I am, by my own estimation, an advanced player. I have a band and we are just starting to gig regularly after spending about a year rehersing and learning songs. Since the songs we play in the band take up a lot of my time I find my passion for blues harp waxes and wanes (the band is an amature venture; I'm not trying for a career as a professional blues musician). For instance, I'm currently very interested in Chromatic stuff of a more swing/be bop flavor.
This site has rekindled my interest in pushing my playing skills ahead on the short harp. The interview with Filisko is really inspiring. I've also taken up learning the two songs in the advanced study. I have almost no experience with upper end octave splits and Davids composition is a beautifuly crafted study in this technique. So I'm excited about getting to work on this.
So I just wanted to say hi, say who I was, and compliment David Barrett on a really great site. I've purchased a few of your books over the years and it seems to me your teaching experience and the breadth of material you've written provide both a deep structure and an intellegent character that informs this whole site.
Oh, and I also think the subscription is VERY reasonable. Thanks for doing such a great job! And thank you to the designer too (sorry I forgot your name).

P.S. I also think your harp playing is killer, David. You've got taste, man.
Thanks Sam!
I agree, this is a great site. Lots of great information from theory, to technique, to interviews, and so on as noted above. The next best thing to being able to drop by The School of the Blues whenever you feel like it. Yet, the layout is nice and clean, and it is very easy to find things.
David and Andy, great job !!
Thank you Gregg... this is just the tip of the iceberg... so many things to come... very excited with this new learning format.
You're welcome, David. The comments are sincere and well deserved.
Tip of the iceberg? My mind is racing. Now I'm very excited, too.
By the way, my copy of the two books, the CDs, and the DVD in Series 1: Beginning arrived today. I've spent the last hour or so reviewing the material. Study with the harmonica starts tomorrow evening. And thanks for adding the DVD to the level!
Hello!
This is the first post as I do on the forum!
I just want to fill with praise on David Barrett Blues harmonica com.
I was privileged to go to the harmonica master class in San Jose May 2008.
You must be aware that it was a pretty long journey. I live in Sweden. But it was the best investment I've made to develop me on harmonica. And now this! It surpasses most. I can sit in my kitchen and take some of the materials. Training, interviews, forum. When I found out that David would start the Blues harmoncia so I did not hesitate for a second to notify me.
David, I will try to spread your business to as many as I can, here in Sweden.
The very best Regards!
Stefan
Hi, I just joined today. David did an outstanding thing by offering his knowledge in an on-line format. I have several of his books which needless to say are great but this type of instruction format is tremendous. Thanks!

Thank you Dave... glad to have you on the site!
David, I won a one month access to your site recently from a raffle at Harpzilla at a club in Las Vegas. I had no idea how much I would benefit from a resource such as this; specifically your site. I can see you have put a lot of thought into analyzing the mechanics involved to be able to explain everything so clearly. I'm having a lot fun with this and intend to continue after the month expires. Thanks. -Benny
Great... glad to have you!
Hey Sam - to me another of the potentially great things on this site will be to track the progress of Aki and Joe as well as getting the benefit of experienced players such as yourself. I'm just coming up to my 3rd anniversary of playing the harp but contact with Dave and people like yourself has made it a great journey!!
