rolls
Does one of the lessons deal with the rolled r rolls like Horton does? Specifically, can they only be done with the pursing embouchure?
Sorry about that, I thought I may have mentioned it in Chorus 6. It's not that common of a technique, so it doesn't fit in the normal cannon of lesson material.
All I can offer you is a written explanation, which seems like you already have.
Note presented with the Spanish “R,” as in “Rosa” or the
top-back of the tongue like the Hebrew “Ch” as in
“Chaiim.”
Both ways of performing can be done in a tongue block. For the Spanish R, start with your tongue off of the harmonica to roll the R (chord) and then slap the intended note (single note). For the Hebrew “Ch,” again start with your tongue off of the harmonica (the start of a slap... the chord), sound the "Ch" and then slap. In both cases you're rolling the chord, not the single note. If you want to roll a single note in a tongue block, then use "Ch."
Blow is easier (and most common), but with practice you can also do it on the draw.
Hello jlord. I think it may be in the Big Walter Horton Artist Study here https://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/artist_study_big_walter_horton If it's not, let me know and I'll give you guidance
