Ross Garren on SNL

Saw this after Annie Raines asked on Facebook (and gave great praise to the performance) if anyone knew who was playing harp on this number. Then people answered it was Ross Garren, and I thought "wait a minute, I think I've seen this guy before...". Ross is the instructor who gives the overbends lessons here.
Great performance indeed!
And to add to the fun:
Neil Warren's latest Harmonica Happy Hour Podcast features Rob Paparozzi, Ross Garren and Liam Ward, talking about their roles in the making of the movie. And add to the "friends of Bluesharmonica" who were involved, Tom Halchak of Blue Moon Harmonicas.
Definitely worth a listen. (As are all of Neil's podcasts.)

Thanks for posting the link! I'd been looking forward to seeing Ross doing his thing on SNL.
The producers of "A Complete Unknown" did the right thing by bringing in three (yes, three!) great harp players to make Bob Dylan's harmonica playing real on the silver screen. Our own Harpsmith, Kinya Pollard, produced period-accurate-looking 1896 Marine Bands (without reeds) to be used as props; Ross did all the harp work recording the sountrack in the studio, and Rob Paparozzi coached Chalamet on how to look like Dylan while playing. Re the latter, check out the interview with Rob at https://www.gq.com/story/timothee-chalamet-a-complete-unknown-harmonica-... . Turns out that Chalamet had already been doing a lot of harmonica work to prepare for filming!
