Section 2 - Study Song “Walk with Me
Hi David. I'am Berry from Holland.
i have 2 questions: In the beginning of your explaining you prepare us to blow Walk with me.
I have to play 3 draw and then 4+ 4 and so on. Must i put my tonque on hole 1+2 and then 1+2+3? And leave the tonque all the song on the harmonica? Is it always the intention to put the tonque on the harmonica when i play a single note?
second: i 'am curious to bend and i practice every day. I study as you explain it. But do I also have to put the tongue on, for example ,hole 1 + 2 + 3 + to play the 4 draw bending
So do you always play with the tongue when necessary?
Hello Berry, nice to meet you. Yes, you play with your tongue on the harmonica to play single notes and when bending. Your standard embouchure size is to have your lips surround four holes, with your tongue blocking the three to the left. To play hole 3, you block holes 2, 1, and some wood to the left (so your lips stay the same size). To play hole 2, your mouth narrows a touch and you block hole 1 and some wood to the left. As you learn in Tongue Block Study 1, Chorus 2, there are options on how to play hole 1. Let me know if you have any further questions.
