Setup pack of seydel
Hey harpsmith:)
- I saw that you recommended in you reed slot sizing series the seydel setup pack, so I got one :D but it is not like the one you used, it is smaller and a bit different (im talking about seydel setup pack vol.03). is it to be used in the same way you showed in your video?
- for making the harp more suitable for overblows, do you think gapping and slot sizing is "enough"? do you recommend first gapping and then slot sizing, the other way around or it doesnt matter?
- do you work one hole at a time? gap it, slot size it, see if it overblows and move on?
- On a non-exclusively-related-issue ; I managed to create a brief overblow on the 6 hole Manji ungapped/non-embossed, on a C harmonica, I find that it is easier for me on that harp than lower ones, is that common? you think I should gap and emboss that hole and improve my control and technique on that specific hole and then move on to improve my technique on other ones?
Sorry for the many question i'm just kindof excited about this
Hi Crazy, Of course you're excited--this is cool stuff!
Regarding slot sizing, I recommend you go back to Forum: September 21, 2014, "Check this out! The new RS Harmonica Slot Customizing Tool"
Upcoming in Ross Garren's "Overbending Interviews", the subject of proper reed set up will be broadcasted.
Not surprising to me that you were able to eek out a OB on the Manji. Suzuki Manji's have one of the best out-of-the-box reed slot tolerances in the universe.
