Seydel Session Steel coverplate swap
I recently purchased a set of Seydel Session Steels. I can play them OK, but the taller coverplates are a bit awkward as compared to the SP20s and MBs I usually play. I had heard of some players swapping out the cover plates for lower profile ones (like 1847 or soloist pro coverplates). I am trying to determine whether to swap them out and if so, with what. Anybody have experience on this a far as what covers will fit and would be on par with the feel of an SP20? Also if I decide to swap them out what I should know as far as being able to take them apart and put them back together. I am fairly handy, but want to make sure I don't miss something and mess up my harps.
Thanks
Brian
The screws for the cover plates take a PoziDrive 0 screwdriver. The reed plates take a PoziDrive 1. You can purchase them at wiha tools.
I have Seydel Session Steel with 1847 covers on them. Direct fit.
