Hi John
It sounds like you're on the right track. I probably wouldn't spend too much longer on this song, because some of the control you need for this one will take a few months to get yet. (I haven't participated in LOA so I don't know what standard you're supposed to reach before submitting/moving on...)
In particular, I found I needed to work on articulation ("ga"/"ka") to get those 5s and 4s in the head to punch enough to really stand out.
But before you move on from this one I would spend some time paying attention to slaps on this one. I can hear your slaps on some notes here but not all of them. They're quite emphasised on David's recording, and it was while learning this song that a lot of the tongue slapping stuff really clicked into place for me. At some point in your lessons, this stops being notated.
Many thaks
Jeremy thank you very much for taking the time to provide guidance. Your suggestions a very helpful and on the money. With the focus on bends in this tune I find I am neglecting the slaps. Another area I am focusing on is to get volume in my 1 and 2 draws And yes thanks for the reminder articulation.
