Sounding good!
Agree with Rob's comments Erik - especially the run @22 - a beauty. It took me quite a while to get totally comfortable with TB but now I'm using it probably 99% of the time for bends and even my latest challenge of overblows. I find that it gives me access to so many different textures like slaps, pulls etc that I'm glad I persevered and stuck it out through the frustrating period of time. Hang in there because it sounds like you have a great start on tongue blocking!!
Thanks Hank!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback and words of advice in regards to TB. I'm enjoying bringing on as many techniques as I can. Thanks for listening.
I was just listening to your
I was just listening to your tongue blocking slaps at the start of the song and then you flipped me over with that fast run @22! You obviously know your way around the harp Erik and the challenge of incorporating tongue blocking into your playing is just beginning! The difference in sound between what I interpret as lip pursed licks and tongue blocked chords/ slaps is striking- the more you work with TB, the more you should be able to play fluent single note combinations. Having said that, mixing the 2 embouchures is perfectly valid as many players (myself included) often do. Welcome to the site!
Thanks Rob!
Thanks so much for the feedback Rob! I really appreciate the new opportunity to discuss the harp, especially with such excellent players such as yourself. It is a great adventure incorporating TB into my playing. Thanks again for taking the time to listen and offer advice.
