Single blow notes articulation
Hello David,
This question pribably has it's answer on the higher levels but I am still at the beginner stage so I decided to ask for guidance.
I am curently listening to a piece performed by you called "easy" by big walter horton and i can hear clearly the blow notes which are obviously articulated but not all of them with slaps. Is it by "k" or smth else?
The bigger question I would like to ask is: what other ways are there to articulate single blow notes, besides slaps and "ha"?
Thanks in advance!
Angel
Not for the blow... it's a very natural thing to do (again, just a slight cough... our body is used to it). The Ka for the draw takes some practice. Since it's in the same general area of where we commonly bend on the harmonica, it takes some practice to not have the draw note you're playing bend when using the articulation.
Hello Angel. The most common articulation used for blow notes is the same as that used in the tremolo. When performing the tremolo, you open and close your vocal folds, just like a very slight cough. Since we’re on the subject, the most common articulation for draw notes is the Ka.
