Slaps & the Metronome
Hi David, hope all is well.
While practicing my bending (which is coming along slowly but surely) I've gone back to the metronome to hone my timing as well. As part of this study, I record each lesson both with and without slaps. My question concerns the exact moment of the note with the slap. Obvously, a slap + the note will be longer in duration than just the note alone. The duration of the slap + the note is actually longer than the tone on the metronome. So, I am assuming that correct timing is judged on the note alone just as it would be without the slap and that the slap itself is ignored for timing purposes. Am I correct on this or am I missing something?
Hello Ace. Yes, the arrival of the single note is to align with where you want it on the metronome. The chord of the slap is essentially a pickup.
