Thanks Harplayer
but you have to download another piece of free software in order to convert Audacity files to MP3s. It's called "LAME." It isn't hard, though, and once you install it, everything happens automagically.
Go to this link and all will be explained:

Enjoy!
Thanks Marcos, you da man.
I have just purchased a Super Champ X2 and a Shure 520DX and would like to record directly onto my computer using the USB connection to record the sound from the amp. The software is Audacity. Can anyone help me out please.
I don't know the Fender Champ, but I record directly to my computer from a Fender Mustang. I have a Boss Studio V-100 that I mix with, so I run the ear phone jack from the amp into the Boss and then route the Boss to the computer. I use Sonar X2, and I have to go into the Sonar DAW software and specify the signal from the Boss as my input source.
If the Champ as has an earphone jack, you should be able to do much the same thing with whatever software you are using in your setup . . . you may need some kind of mixer between the amp and the computer. You will have to experiment and find out what will work.
My Mustang has a USB, but I found that it was problematic getting the signal from the amp to the computer using the USB, for me, the headphone jack was a lot simpler solution.
I found a discussion forum with some advice on how to set up the recording on the USB. It is located here:

Another very simple solution is to use a USB mic and record the amp live through the USB mic.
Hope that helps,
Bill
Thanks for your help Bill, I will give it a try.
Hello Harplayer. I'm sorry, I don't know. I don't know much about that software, I purchased it and got to know it just well enough to give everyone the basics... I normally use ProTools. I recommend you work through their online training material. Sorry I can't be more help. I look forward to your submission.
