So, Jazz...

Hi folks,
My teenage daughter is becoming quite the jazz musician, and I would like to be able to play more than the 12 bar blues with her. To that end, I have been working on the music theory lessons, here, as well as learning overbends. Both of these skills are in the "work in progress" status, but they are coming along. Would love to hear feeback on anything else I should or could be doing to hasten my progress toward being able to play jazz comfortably on a diatonic harp.
Matt:
Most of the great jazz players played or play chromatic (think Toots Thielemans, Larry Adler, Yvonnick Prené, Hermine Deurloo, et al.).
But on diatonic, no one does it like Howard Levy. See, e.g., https://artistworks.com/harmonica-lessons-howard-levy?ads_cmpid=13621311...
Don't know if he's still actively teaching, but right here in our own SacTown, dermatologist Dr. Marc Silverstein has been a regular at jazz festivals, playing a lot of ragtime. https://marcsilversteinharmonica.com/
Jazz harmonica takes a lot of listenting. Like, instead of "listen twice, play once" as David counsels, try "listen 10 times, then 10 times again."
