Solo harmonica study 3, chording note choice
Hello David!
I was wondering why we never play the 3 draw on the draw chord (which I guess would then rather be called a two notes combination) in example 1.1 as opposed to study 2 ex 1.1 where we do.
My guess would be it's because the whole thing has more of a minor feel and the 3 draw is the major 3rd?
And then in study 3 ex 1.2, we play the draw chord both with and without the 3 draw, but there it could be just to add variaton?
P.S. You'll be flying to Europe soon, if not already. I wish you a pleasant journey. I live 5 hours away from Trossingen, although unfortunately I won't be able to attend this year, maybe the next!
Thank you for the well-wishes miggyb00gie, very kind of you. Exactly, in both those examples it's all about feel... the more you use of 3' the more bluesy it is and the more you use the 3 the lighter it is... and as you've found, it's cool to mix the two together as well.
