Sonny Boy...Help Me
David,
I dont mean tp be pedantic today but i just found Christelle Berthon today.....she practises 8 hrs a day....
I believe this is her playing....wow..she sounds better than Sonny himself.....
are we ever going to study this song?
I'll do some research on both for you and get back to you...
Slucey - email me off forum and I'll send you some stuff that might give you what you are after.
The transcription book "Blues Harmonica Collection" (Hal Leonard Publishing) by David McKelvy has the transcription.
The jam track "Stand Alone Blues" by Robert Brown (Alfred Publishing) has a track called "Green's Onion Blues" that is "Help Me."
I have a question about that transcription.
The chuck-chucks during the verses are all transcribed as 1-2 draws - even on the IV-chord.
To my ear, Sonny Boy plays something different on the IV-chord chucks. The best I can approximate to it is a 3-4 blow, which fits both the chord and the minor feel.
What's your take on this?
Thanks
I agree with you about the 3+/4+ on the verses for the IV Chord
Unfortunately I can't do this song... would love to, but cannot get print rights. Most songs out there large corporations own the print rights that have a policy of not licensing the songs. For this reason the Artist Study section focuses on working with artists that I can speak with personally and pay them for their work.
