Hi, David:

I'm working through "The Split" and noticed that you use the major 7th of the IV chord in Chorus 3. I was surprised you made no mention of this in the video. It might be as simple as "I thought it sounded good", but is there any reason for using the major 7?

Answer

Nothing gets past you Marc, well done. Yes, you're right, I did it because the flat-7th was expected... it's fun to mess with our audience.
