Squealing during bending

David, I'm starting to have some success at bending, but when, for instance, I hold the 4 draw bend for a while, sometimes I get a really high pitched metallic screeching like feedback. Am I playing too hard, or maybe bending a little beyond, (lower), than I need to. Or maybe both. Is this what's producing this phenomenon? It sort of hurts my left ear a little.
Helllo nlm57. I'm not sure why a harmonica does this, but yes, playing too loudly, or bending beyond a reed's ability to bend, can cause this. With altered technique, you can improve this. With this said, sometimes reeds are more prone to this (in other words, something in the setup process can cause this... I'm not sure what it is, or how it's fixed by someone who knows what they're doing when working on harmonicas). I recommend you ask both Winslow and Kinya on their part of the forum, they will know. When they reply, please come back and tell me what they say, I would like to know the reason too!
