Hello-
This is an original instrumental inspired by the Stax records sound. In equal measure, it is an homage to both their vocal recordings and their instrumental releases. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks to All
Thanks for the constructive feedback. I really appreciate it coming from such wonderful players. I love
the harmonica and it seems the instrument's passionate players are some of the coolest folks on the planet!
Judging
Nice head with sax unison... nice use of bridge... nice lyrical solo... good to hear the head come back after instrumental solos and it was nice to hear you jam it out... ending was rough, but everything else about the song was top-notch produced. Great work, a killer song!
Thank You
I really appreciate your comments. I agree on the ending. It was a live take a live take and there were enough good things in the take to keep it. You know how it goes!
Thanks for noticing the lyrical playing. I was trying to emulate a Stax vocalist during the theme but of course loved jamming it out at the end. Once again thanks!
I like it. It's obvious some
I like it. It's obvious some real thought and care went into this performance. The head reminds me of Lee Oskar and a little bit of Taj Mahal in the way you attack the octaves.
Thanks!
Your comments are very much appreciated! I was going for the lyrical aproach, muck like Lee does. Thanks so much!
cool groove
I like this alot. Very original ideas. I dig the way the harp & guitar or organ play the head together. The jam-out on the end is cool too. Reminds me alot of Lee Oskar's style as well as DeLay. Very together stuff!
Wow!
Coming from a master, comments like this, well I am indeed honored. I am a admirer of both Oskar and Delay so once again thanks. All the Best
Very cool! You are Steve
Very cool! You are Steve Cropper of harmonica :))
Yeah - great head and hook.
Yeah - great head and hook. Nice crisp tome that fits the groove of the BT - nice crisp attacks and accurate note playing. Like how you left the spaces to make it feel like a live show.
Soul City!
Great track Tim. Your playing and the song in general has a wonderful "floating" quality. Very polished, great bending control and fantastic melodic ideas- nice job!
Thumbs up to the Staxman
Love the opening, the overall feel reminds me of Paul Delay. Some cool soulful frasing. Very nice one, love it.
That's such a cool head, and
That's such a cool head, and played with a lot of feeling. Good to hear something outside the 12 bar blues format too.
Now that is a great opening-
Now that is a great opening- love it, really pretty and smooth - you got me humming it. Sweet jamtrack too, I hope more guys start participating after hearing that cool instumental!
