Sticking the landing

When recording yourself for submitting songs to the website, does anyone else feel like the gymnast who, after practicing their routine long and hard for months, executes a perfect routine for the judges, goes to stick the landing (that LAST lick) and falls flat on their face? Do-over!!

I took to just recording the
I took to just recording the practice sessions. Made the "nerves" go away, and if I happened to get lucky and have "perfect" practice run, it's a keeper.

Better When Not Recording
Me too. I sound a lot better when I'm not listening to my own recording.
I have to say that everytime I record myself (even if it's only for me) I feel I play immediately worse - so practicing while recording myself is a good way to deal with that feeling!
