The switch
David i would like to personally thank you i am an official tongue blocker, i started playing lip pursing and switched while learning Take It Easy Now. I have the bends but still having trouble with high end notes but i love the full sound and the tongue slaps i'm hooked. Still don't play up to par with the lip pursing but getting there quick. When i raise the harmonica to my mouth i instantly place my tongue in position seems it's becoming habit thank you again. Never did i imagine i would be a tongue blocker
Great to hear. Also, on the high bends (draw or blow), make sure to control them in the front of your mouth with the front of your tongue.
Way to go!! It is exciting when it hits. The best tip I got from David when I was struggling with TB blow bends was to start with a lower key harp like a low Eb or LowF or G and then gradually work up to higher key as the TB blow bend is mastered. The other thing was to start on hole 7, then move up to 8, 9 and 10. The longer reeds are 'easier' to work but once you have the technique it works the same all the way through.
Good luck- I found it exciting and there are some great riffs up there.
