TB strobe tuner
I've started getting into the harp tech studies and I've been looking for an accurate tuner to experiment with just intonation. I've tried a cheap digital tuner and also the free downloadable "AP tuner" but I can't seem to get the accuracy I want with either.
Last week I came across the "TB strobe tuner". It's described as a "PC software strobe tuner for Microsoft Windows platform". You can download a trial version which has a restriction whereby the callibration is fixed to A= 442Hz, (ideal for trial purposes with the harmonica!) The full version has adjustable Hz callibration and the facility to adjust the cents +/- to wherever you want (accurate to 0.1 cent!) then just tune your reed according to the usual strobe procedure. I've found it to be very accurate and thought other members might benefit from a heads up about the tuner. It's very cheap at just $4.90 (@£3 UK sterling) and has a 30 day refund policy if you're not satisfied. No connections to the company etc. just a great piece of software. Here's the link:
Apparently it's PC only. Does anyone know of a good, inexpensive strobe tuner for the mac?
You can try Bendometer on http://www.Harpsoft.com/index.html
I got this one in my mac and it's running fine. If you knew any other tell me too ;-)
Thanks for the recommendation... I may pick that up myself!
