TB-Technique
I have a question about tb-technique. When I tongue-block hole one to play hole 2 I got a more exact and cleaner sound when i use more oft he tip oft he tongue to block hole one. The more I move my tongue to the left and the righ side of the tongue covers hole one the sound gets more „dirty“ and less exact - especially the drawsound is lacking pressure when I do so. My question: Is blocking with the tip of the tongue a bad habit which I should avoid because of negative side-effects concerning my further studies and oncoming techniques to learn?
Thanks Dave for your advice!
Good morning Kai. Playing hole 2 requires you to make your mouth a little smaller and the same for the tongue. Using less of the tongue means to pull it back a little bit from the harmonica, and the result is that you're using a little bit more of the tip (and lighter touch). So, what you describe is a natural adjustment.
